How Check B-Z collects, uses, stores, protects and discloses your personal information.
Check B-Z is a personal income, expense, budgeting and savings-tracking mobile application operated by Risi Developers Limited, a company based in Uganda.
This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, protect and disclose personal information when you use the Check B-Z mobile application, website and related services.

When you record a bank, SACCO, Mobile Money wallet, savings group or other savings location, this is only information entered by you for personal tracking. It does not create a connection between Check B-Z and that institution.

When you create a Check B-Z account, we may collect:
We do not store your password in plain text. Where phone-number registration is available, we may use a one-time password to verify your phone number.

When you purchase Check B-Z Premium through Google Play or another authorised app marketplace, we may receive: subscription status, product or plan purchased, purchase token or transaction identifier, subscription start and renewal dates, trial status, subscription expiry or cancellation status, and country or region associated with the purchase.
Payments are processed by the relevant app marketplace or payment provider. We do not receive or store your complete payment-card number, card security code or payment-account password.
When you use Check B-Z, we may automatically receive limited technical information such as: device type and model, operating-system version, app version, device or app identifiers, language, country or general region, internet connection status, date and time of access, crash reports, error logs, and performance and diagnostic information.
We use this information to operate, secure, test and improve the app.
Where analytics are enabled, we may collect information about how the app is used, including screens visited, features used, buttons selected, session duration, subscription-screen interactions, successful or failed synchronisation, and general usage patterns.
We do not use analytics to read the contents of your financial notes unless this is necessary to provide a feature you specifically request.
When you contact us, we may collect your name, email address, phone number, the content of your message, screenshots or documents you provide, information needed to investigate your issue, and records of our correspondence.
Tip: Please remove unnecessary financial or confidential information before sending screenshots to customer support.
When you enable notifications, we may process notification preferences, reminder dates and times, spending-limit thresholds, savings reminders, and device notification tokens. You can disable notifications through the app or your device settings.
Check B-Z may allow you to use some features without creating an account.
When using guest mode:

We may process limited information where reasonably necessary to improve the app, protect accounts, prevent fraud, maintain service reliability, respond to support requests, and understand general feature usage. We will consider your rights and interests before relying on legitimate interests.
We may process or retain limited information where required by law, regulation, court order or valid governmental request.
We do not sell your personal information.
We do not rent your personal information to advertisers or data brokers.
We may share limited information in the following circumstances.
We may use trusted service providers to support cloud hosting, database storage, user authentication, phone-number verification, email delivery, push notifications, crash reporting, app analytics, customer support, subscription verification, security monitoring, and data backup and synchronisation.
These providers may process information only as necessary to provide their services to us and subject to appropriate contractual, confidentiality and security obligations.
Google Play or another marketplace may process subscription, device and account information under its own privacy terms. We may receive limited purchase and subscription information needed to activate or manage Premium access.
We may disclose information where reasonably necessary to comply with applicable law, respond to a valid court order or lawful request, investigate fraud or security threats, protect the rights and safety of users, protect Risi Developers Limited, its staff and its services, and enforce our agreements. We will assess requests for information and disclose only what is lawfully required.
If Risi Developers Limited is involved in a merger, acquisition, restructuring, financing or sale of assets, personal information may be transferred as part of that transaction. Where required, we will notify affected users and ensure that the information remains subject to appropriate privacy protections.
The current version of Check B-Z does not display third-party advertisements.

We do not use users' personal financial records for third-party behavioural advertising.
If our advertising practices change, we will update this Privacy Policy and obtain any consent required by applicable law before introducing the change.
Check B-Z is operated by Risi Developers Limited in Uganda and may use service providers located in other countries. As a result, personal information may be processed or stored outside your country of residence.
Where required, we will use appropriate safeguards for international transfers, which may include contractual data-protection clauses, transfer agreements, security controls, processing restrictions, and other legally recognised safeguards.
We will take reasonable steps to ensure that transferred information receives protection consistent with this Privacy Policy and applicable law.
We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the app and requested services, maintain your account, back up and synchronise your records, manage subscriptions, resolve disputes, prevent fraud and abuse, meet legal obligations, and enforce our agreements.
Information associated with an active account may be retained for as long as the account remains open and the information is needed to provide the service.
When you delete an individual financial record, it will be removed from your active account. Limited backup copies may remain temporarily until routine backup cycles are completed.
When you delete your account, we will delete or anonymise the personal information associated with it within a reasonable period, subject to any information that must be retained for legal compliance, fraud prevention, security, dispute resolution, subscription and transaction records, and enforcement of legal rights.
Information retained for these purposes will be limited, protected and no longer used to provide ordinary app services.
Information stored only on your device remains under your control and may be deleted by deleting individual records, clearing the app's storage, or uninstalling the app. Uninstalling the app does not necessarily delete information already synchronised to a registered account.
You may delete individual records or your entire Check B-Z account.
You may edit or delete income, expense, savings and related entries directly in the app.

Deleting your account will permanently remove or anonymise your profile, contact information, income records, expense records, spending limits, savings goals, savings contributions and withdrawals, savings locations, and other account-related information.

Deleting your Check B-Z account may not automatically cancel an active Google Play subscription.

Following account deletion, some limited records may be retained where required for legal, security, fraud-prevention or subscription-management purposes.

Check B-Z does not use financial records to make decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects through fully automated processing.

No electronic storage or transmission method is completely secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.

Where biometric access is enabled, Check B-Z uses the authentication functionality provided by your device.
Your fingerprint, facial template or other raw biometric information is generally handled by your device's operating system and is not received or stored by Check B-Z.
The app may receive confirmation that authentication succeeded or failed.
Check B-Z may send optional notifications relating to spending limits, savings reminders, financial summaries, account security, subscription status, and service updates.
You can manage notification preferences through the Check B-Z settings or your device's notification settings.
Turning off notifications does not delete your account or financial records.
Check B-Z is intended for adults aged 18 years and above.
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 18 through the app. If we learn that a child has provided personal information without appropriate legal authorisation, we will take reasonable steps to delete it.
A parent or guardian who believes a child has provided personal information may contact us using the details below.
The app may contain links to third-party websites or services, including Google Play subscription-management pages.
We do not control the privacy practices of third parties. You should review the privacy policies of any third-party service you choose to use.
Recording the name of a bank, SACCO, Mobile Money provider, savings group or investment institution does not mean that Check B-Z is affiliated with, endorsed by or connected to that organisation.
We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes to the app, new features, changes to service providers, changes to legal requirements, and changes to our security or privacy practices.
When changes are material, we may notify users through an in-app notice, email, a website notice, or an updated effective date.
Your continued use of Check B-Z after an updated policy takes effect means that the updated policy will apply to future use, subject to any consent required by law.
